Pilah Training (“we” or “us”) is committed to respecting and protecting your privacy. This privacy policy applies to all individuals who access Pilah Training’s websites and mobile applications listed here (the “Sites”), engage our services (“Services”), attend a Pilah Training event or otherwise interact with us. This policy describes the personal information we collect and how that personal information may be used, maintained and, in some cases, shared.

“Personal information” includes any information that enables us to identify you, directly or indirectly, by reference to any identifiers such as name, identification number, location data, online identifier or one or more factors specific to you.

Pilah Training is the “controller” and is responsible for deciding how personal information is used. The controller in respect of personal information processed in connection with our Sites is Pilah Training, a sole proprietorship registered under Registration of Business Act 1956, with a registration number 201303120852.

For the other processing activities set out in this privacy policy, the controller will be the relevant Pilah Training entity that you and/or your organization have instructed, or that is providing Services or communicating with you. Each such entity may be regarded as an independent controller of your personal information, and this privacy policy applies to all such entities.

You can use the Sites to subscribe to Pilah Training news, alerts or other publications. We will ask you to provide personal information such as your name, contact details and topics of interest. We will use this information to provide you with the content you have requested and to tailor this content to your preferences and areas of interest.

In some cases, our Sites allow you to comment on Pilah Training blog posts and to share content with third parties via email or social media. When you engage our Services

When you engage us to provide you with Services, we collect and use personal information which is necessary for the performance of those Services. Personal information may be provided voluntarily by you and/or your organization, or collected by us from third party sources.

Such information may include:

  • contact information, such as your name, employer, job title, department, postal address, email address and telephone number(s);
  • identification and background information, required for anti-money laundering, identity verification, client conflicts and other regulatory purposes;
  • financial information, such as payment-related information;
  • personal information, relevant to any dispute, grievance, investigation, arbitration, or other Service we have been asked to provide.

We will process such personal information for the following purposes as is necessary to provide our Services under the terms of our client engagement, or to answer questions or take steps at your request prior to entering those terms:

  • to register you as a client of Pilah Training;
  • to provide and administer our Services, as instructed by you or your organization;
  • to produce reports and narratives to cover how we have spent our time in relation to your matter(s); and
  • to process payments, billing and collection.

We will process such personal information for the following purposes as is necessary for certain legitimate interests, where you have given your consent to such processing to the extent required by applicable law (such consent can be withdrawn at any time), or to comply with our legal and/or regulatory obligations:

  • to perform identity, financial and credit searches, screening and checks against third party sources for anti-money laundering, identity verification, client conflicts, anti-trust and other regulatory purposes;
  • to administer and manage our relationship with you, including accounting, auditing, and taking other steps linked to the performance of our business relationship including identifying persons authorized to represent our clients;
  • to analyze and improve our services and communications and to monitor compliance with our policies and standards;
  • to protect the security of our communications and other systems, and to prevent and detect security threats, frauds or other criminal or malicious activities;

  • to exercise or defend our legal rights or to comply with court orders; and

You can use our Sites, to learn about us and apply for open positions by submitting a resume and other information via email. We may also receive resumes from recruitment consultants, Pilah Training employees or other third parties.

Resumes will typically include personal information, including name, contact details, information about academic and professional qualifications and experiences, your interests and the position at Pilah Training for which you are applying. We will also collect and process any additional information you provide during the recruitment process or an interview, or that we received from recruitment consultants, Pilah Training employees, background check providers or other third parties.

We will use this personal information to:

  • assess your suitability for the position for which you are applying;
  • contact you about your application;
  • manage and administer our recruitment processes;
  • review references and facilitate background screening;
  • decide whether to enter an employment relationship with you; and
  • provide updates on vacancies at Pilah Training which might be suitable for you, provided you have given your consent.

In the event you are not hired by Pilah Training, we will permanently delete your resume and any other personal information held about you within a reasonable period after receiving your resume, unless you have given us your consent to keep this information for an extended period in order to inform you about future vacancies which may be of interest.

Contacting us by phone, email or otherwise

When you communicate with us, you are asked to provide your name, email address and phone number. We will use this information to respond to your questions and comments. We will request similar personal information to confirm your identity when you contact us by phone, email or otherwise.

We will use your personal information to provide you, or permit selected third parties to provide you, with information about products or services we feel may interest you, provided you have given your consent, which can be withdrawn at any time.

Site Use Information

Our web servers may collect information including the IP address of visitors to our Sites, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system and platform.

We use this personal information for the following purposes:

  • to measure the use of our Sites, including number of visits, average time spent on a Site, pages viewed, page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks, and mouse-overs), etc., and to improve the content we offer;

Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies

“Do Not Track” Browser Settings

At this time, we do not use technology that recognizes “do-not-track” signals (“DNT”) from your web browser. If you turn on the DNT setting on your browser, our Sites are not currently capable of following whatever DNT preferences you set.

However, in relation to any personal information you submit to us online, you should keep in mind that the Sites are run on software, hardware, and networks, any component of which may, from time to time, require maintenance or experience problems or breaches of security beyond our control. We may retain and use your personal information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements and rights, or if it is not technically reasonably feasible to remove it. Consistent with these requirements, we will try to delete your personal information quickly upon request.

Our Sites may contain links to other websites. This privacy policy only addresses the use and disclosure of your personal information collected through our Sites, if any. If you choose to visit an external website linked from a Site, you will leave our Site. While we try to link only to websites that share our standards and respect for privacy, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third parties or the content of linked websites. In some cases, our Sites provide social media features which allow you to share Pilah Training content with your social networks and to interact with Pilah Training on various social media sites. Your use of these features may result in the collection or sharing of information about you, depending on the feature. We encourage you to review the privacy policies and settings on the social media sites with which you interact to make sure you understand the information that could be shared by those sites. We do not accept responsibility or liability for these policies. Child Privacy

If you are under the age of majority in your home jurisdiction, please do not use or access the Sites. It is not our intention to collect or use personal information from anyone under the age of majority, and we will not knowingly do so. If we are made aware that we have collected any personal information from minors, and are asked to delete such information from our databases, we will promptly do so.

Access from Outside Malaysia

If you access a Site from outside of Malaysia, information that we collect about you will be transferred to servers inside Malaysia, which may involve the transfer of information out of your country of origin. By allowing us to collect personal information about you, you consent to such transfer and processing of your personal information.

Your Data Protection Rights

Opting Out of Communications

If you have subscribed to or are otherwise receiving Pilah Training news, alerts, blog posts, or similar information from us by email and no longer want to receive such information in the future, you may opt-out of receiving these emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of those emails you receive. Please allow ample time for us to process your request.

Please note that even if you opt-out of receiving emails, you may still receive communications related to your interaction with us (such as confirmation of a registration or form submission) or otherwise as required by law. Also note that we may need to keep personal information we have collected about you to respect your decision to opt-out, for record-keeping and other purposes.

Governing Law

By choosing to visit our Sites or provide information to us, subject to applicable law, you agree that any dispute over privacy or the terms contained in this Privacy Policy will be governed by the laws of Malaysia. You also agree to abide by any limitation on damages contained in our Terms of Use, or other agreements that we have with you.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may occasionally amend this Privacy Policy to reflect our activities and user feedback, and we reserve the right to make changes to this Privacy Policy at any time. The use of your information is subject to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use in effect at the time of use. The provisions contained in this Privacy Policy supersede all previous notices or policies regarding our privacy practices with respect to the Sites.
